Standin' at the edge of town, wind in my hair
A trucker blows his horn as he drives by but I don't care
It seems like the millionth time I find myself here
I'm thinkin' about forgiveness, wiping away a tear
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I just want to lay down and die
Sometimes I pray
When I don't know what to do or what to say
I get back in my car and I start to drive
Headin' back to our home, back to our lives
And you'll be waiting for me with open arms
Like a prodigal son comin' back to his daddy's farm
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I just want to lay down and die
Sometimes I pray
When I don't know what to do or what to say
How many times can you forgive me?
It's hard to understand
But I'm thankful that you love me so deeply
Guess it's a part of your plan
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I just want to lay down and die
Sometimes I pray
When I don't know what to do or what to say
