| In Tim's Words: I started to learn to play guitar at age 10, and later tried to learn every John Denver and James Taylor song. Enjoyed singing with family members in various church events while growing up. About 10 years ago started pursuing an interest in playing the mandolin and hoping to someday play in a band like Wanigan. I've never really heard a mandolin player that I didn't enjoy listening to, including beginners. The mandolin playing of Butch Baldassari and Doyle Lawson caught my attention early on, and I have a great appreciation for how cleanly they play. Graduated from the University of Kansas in 1985 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Married (wife Gretchen) with two teenage daughters (Rachel and Sigourney). I feel very blessed to be part of a group so open to sharing through music their struggles and triumphs as they walk along the path that God has set for them. |
